Downsizing Ruby...
In his talk on RubyConf2010 Yukihiro Matsumoto talk - among the other thing (Ruby 2.0) - about a small implementation of Ruby: Rite (Ruby Lite).
Having experienced the increased size of the language - from about 3MB in 1.0 to near 30MB in 1.9 - it’s not a surprise that a lite implementation is needed in order to introduce Ruby in the “embedded market”.
I suppose that this implementation will compete with Lua on some fronts…
